
Cultural Events
- Talks and Conferences: ASU CI invites local scholars and professionals to offer lectures and presentations on topics such as Chinese history, literature, culture, and business.
- Chinese Cultural Activities: ASU CI regularly sponsors or hosts artistic musical performances and other significant cultural events related to traditional Chinese heritage.
- Chinese Knowledge and Culture Contest: As part of the goal to encourage and to develop young Chinese language learners’ knowledge of China’s rich culture and history, ASU CI sponsors cultural contests and other popular events.

Spring Performance & Art Show, March 7, 2009. ASU CI sponsored the annual Chinese dance performance and art show prepared by the students in the Arizona Chinese Arts Academy. This event was held at Mesa Arts Center. For more information, click here.

Moon Festival and National Day Celebration. September 20, 2008
CI ASU co-sponsored this event with Arizona Chinese United Association, ASU Chinese Language Flagship Partner Program, the Contemporary Chinese School of Arizona, and other organizations in the Chinese community at the Chandler Center of the Arts. The Vice-Consulate General of the Chinese Consulate General Office in Los Angeles expressed thanks to the Arizona Chinese community for this celebration during the post-performance reception. China Sichuan Earthquake Projects, May 2008
- Fundraising Events: As part of the efforts to raise money for Sichuan Earthquake, CI ASU teamed up with Arizona Chinese United Association (ACUA) and 42 local Chinese organizations to organize a benefit concert at the Mesa Art Center on May 31, 2008. The event raised $56,568 for earthquake relief. We also support our partner school, the Contemporary Chinese School of Arizona (CCSA), on its fundraising activates. As of June 8, CCSA raised $12,107. - CI Poster: CI ASU initiated the Book of Love project with students in local elementary schools to find ways to express their concern for the children in Sichuan who were affected by the earthquake. American students had submitted more than 150 drawings and letters. ASU CI compiled some of the children drawings into a poster which was delivered to the schools in Sichuan. Click here for details.
- “Dollar Donation to China Earthquake”: Some of the young students from CCSA, ASU CI’s partner Chinese heritage school, started their own fundraising activity called “Dollar Donation to China Earthquake” in their own schools. They were touched by the support they received from other students, teachers, parents and administrators.
Chinese Knowledge and Culture Contest at CCSA, April 5, 2008
In encouraging young Chinese learners to seek knowledge related to China, CI ASU sponsored the Chinese Knowledge and Culture Contest at its partner Chinese heritage school, CCSA, on April 5, 2008 at the Mary Lou Fulton Education Building of ASU.
Sichuan University Art Troupe, March 22, 2008
CI ASU co-sponsored the “Southwest China Traditional Music and Dance” performed by the faculty and students of Sichuan University. The event was held at the ASU Dance Studio and it was free and open to the public. There were 250 people who attended this special Chinese cultural night. Click here for details.
