Faculty Exchange: The ASU Confucius Institute promotes both academic and cultural exchange through visiting scholar programs with Sichuan University and other universities in China.

Lectures and Symposia: The Confucius Institute regularly invites scholars and professional experts to present public lectures and presentations on China-related research and business topics.

The ASU Confucius Institute invited people to join the Post-ACTFL Conference Workshop on Sunday, January 10, 2016 in ASU Memorial Union Alumni Lounge Room 202. Fourteen presenters who attended the ACTFL Conference in San Diego, CA shared the latest research on curriculum design, lesson planning, teaching strategies, and assessment developments in the field of Foreign Language Teaching.

Attendees at this workshop received an ASU CI certificate of five professional teacher training hours at the end of the workshop.

The ASU CI hosted a professional teacher workshop:

Keynote Speaker Sessions included "Bridging the gap from Pre-AP to AP Chinese" by Michelle Wei-Cheng from Adial E Stevenson High School, Illinois, "Integrate Technology into the Classroom" by Jeremy Chen from Horseshoe Trails Elementary School, Fang Wu from Sonoran Trails Middle School, and Xingguo Huang from Cactus Shadows High School, and "Teaching Strategies" by Ovid Peng from Lone Mountain Elementary School, Pan Liu from Gavilan Peak School, and Shengjie Liu from Diamond Canyon School.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015 - 4:00pm

The talk “Nostalgia for the West Lake: Cai Zhangsun and his Poetic Activities during the Song-Yuan Transition” is presented by Professor Bian Dongbo 卞东波 of Nanjing University. Professor Bian is a specialist on classical Chinese literature during early Medieval China and the Tan-Song period. He is currently a visiting scholar of Harvard University and the University of Chicago.
